Eve Online:
I'll be short and concise.
My IPO where I raised 50 billion ISK in exchange for the future promise of my stuff was a scam. I'm not parting with all my stuff. A few notes:
1. To be honest, I've never been worth hundreds of billions of ISK, as most folks think I was. I've been a billionaire, but never the fantastically rich person that I've made myself out to be. It was just an image.
2. I raised, in total $374,405,000,000.
3. My initial 50 billion ISK offering got me a list of investors. Over the following weeks and months, I got in touch with most of them in person (in addition to other people) and worked out private deals, where each person thought that they were going to privately fund a "shortage" in my IPO in exchange for one of my officer-fit ships. The bulk of my fund-raising came from that. There's a lot of folks who think that they're getting an officer-fit Golem, or a Paladin, or a CNR, or a Guardian-Vexor today.
4. I have a really cool shirt that says on the front, "Social Engineering Specialist" and on the back reads, "Because there is no patch for human stupidity." I wear it a lot.
5. I'm still leaving Eve. Folks have probably noticed that I haven't been online much lately - the game is still uninteresting to me. Occasional spurts of fun have kept me active over the years; making parodies...hosting the battleship championships, creating Eve Online Hold'Em, tutoring noobs...and lastly, perpetrating a scam.
6. I spent approximately 250 billion of that 374 billion ISK on officer mods. I have about 120 billion ISK left in my wallet.
7. While I'm leaving Eve, and the parodies will disappear, all the wealth and officer gear I've acquired isn't going to waste - an unidentified recipient who knows who he/she is already is going to get...well, everything. They've worked hard to make Eve a great game, and my riches are going to be a salary for them that is long overdue, although they're probably rich enough already to make it pointless.
8. Entity was not involved in my scam, nor any other parties; please don't attempt to lay blame on anyone else. Entity specifically noted that he had no stake in this, and his name attached here didn't mean anything.
I think that's about it. Merry Christmas, and -------------------------------------------------- Eve-Online Parodies: Music To Laugh To |

Glad you weathered it Turiel!
There are some folks with 20-30 billion ISK invested in me. Hemmo Paskianen is not someone I want to go online and have a chat with right now. >< -------------------------------------------------- Eve-Online Parodies: Music To Laugh To |

For all of you who were in Dodixie for the free ISK giveaways, Merry Christmas. :) -------------------------------------------------- Eve-Online Parodies: Music To Laugh To |

I had a *lot* of investors, and folks - it was nothing personal, and I'm glad there haven't been any truly angry posts. I'm not looking for tears, wasn't looking for tears, and my thread isn't a "hahaha here's how stupid people are" thread calling people out in order of magnitude.
It was just business, and a social engineering experiment; I created the belief that I was a mega-wealthy player, and wanted to see how far I could take that.
The ISK I was giving away yesterday wasn't a "double your ISK" scam, just giving away hundreds of millions and billions of ISK to anyone in local who asked as a Christmas present. I *do* have a fleet of officer fit battleships now - there is nothing else in Eve for me to have to buy; I have an entire fleet of Meta14 fit ships. As such, I'm glad to give away bunches.
Please keep in mind though that I have a...benefactor...or something to whom all my ships and "stuffz" are entitled. This was sort of a fund-raising blitz for them. =p

Not a lot of hate posting, but when I logged in...I had 18 mails ranging from "I can't believe you stabbed me in the back like this" to "This is X's brother, he hanged himself last night because of this - how do you feel now?" -------------------------------------------------- Eve-Online Parodies: Music To Laugh To |

Galmarr, if you can fly *my* Arazu and the fittings on it, you can have it; I always like flying with you. :) Its Tech2 fit with Domination warp disruptors and maybe sensor dampeners, so it can scramble at 60km with my Recon L5 while locking down the sensor range on anything to >20km.
To an anonymous party who's getting all my stuff - if you're reading this, please don't hate over the loss of an Arazu.
I've given away a metric load of ISK to Dodixie and my corp chat. Yesterday I hit up a bunch of of noobies in DCMI with "HOw much is in your wallet?" However much they had, I rounded it up to a billion ISK. :)

And a final announcement - I'm retiring from Eve today.
Giving away all my stuff, settling my accounts, giving back more ISK and stuff to people who invested it in me, and calling it quits. This will be my last post on the forums ever.
Good luck Eve Online; its been a fun ride (parts of it), and I'll miss some of you. -------------------------------------------------- Eve-Online Parodies: Music To Laugh To |
